2020 March 9 - Zoom Pro licensing - clarification

Mon, Mar 9, 10:52 AM

Hi everyone,

Just a quick clarification since there have been some questions:

DO NOT sign up for a Zoom Pro account using your credit card. Zoom licensing is handled by campus, and the campus pays *much* less than the list price. The EVC is paying to upgrade the campus accounts for everyone who teaches (including TAs/non-student tutors) to Zoom Pro. ITS is working on the implementation for this right now.

To gain access to the campus license you must log in using https://ucsd.zoom.us (if logging in on the web) or via clicking the "SSO" signin option and entering "UCSD" as the company name (if using the Zoom client). For a few older accounts the "log in with Google" option may work, but on more recent accounts this seems to not to give you access to your campus license, so please use the ucsd.zoom.us webpage or the "SSO" option if logging in using the Zoom client.

If you need Zoom Pro right away, you can still sign up using the existing mechanism:

https://blink.ucsd.edu/technology/file-sharing/zoom/index.html

This creates a service desk ticket to get you set up with Pro, which is why I'm trying to avoid having 1000 of you do it. :)
