How to Enroll your UCSD-owned Chromebook

If SSCF has direct-shipped you a UCSD-owned Chromebook, please follow these steps before logging into the device for the first time! (If the device is already saying "This device is managed by UCSD.EDU then this has already been taken care of and you don't need to worry about it.)

  1. Power on the device and connect to wifi or ethernet. DON'T LOG IN YET!

  2. When you get to the screen prompting you to enter your credentials to log in, immediately press CONTROL+ALT+E (while holding down the CTRL key and the ALT key, press the letter E.)

  3. When prompted for credentials for enterprise enrollment, enter your @ucsd.edu email address and password. (The same credentials you use when logging into your UCSD Google account.)

  4. You will probably be prompted to use Duo authentication, do this as you normally would.

  5. If you're prompted for "asset information", enter your username in the first field and SSCF in the second one.

  6. The enrollment process will take a few minutes. Once it finishes, the device will reboot and you'll be prompted to log in using your UCSD credentials again.

  7. Send an email to sscfhelp@ucsd.edu telling us that you enrolled your Chromebook and what email address you used to enroll it.

  8. You're all set!
